There are 19 arbitraries to memorize. I still use a flash card app to help me. If you don't use them, you lose them. The app I am using is ANKIDROID.
Okay, so there is the lesson. One notable mention is the consonant plus OR.
for the word minor, here is an example of a conflict.
-Is the book mine or yours? MAOEUN/OR
-She is a minor. MAOEU/NOR
Another example with the word Factor.
-Is it fact or Fiction? FAKT/OR
-It was the main factor. FAK/TOR.
Sample Q and A on audio drill
Q: Who said it was doubtful you could recognize the difference between the sound of a rifle and a handgun?
A: It is crucial he exercise cautious deliberation while carefully considering the volume of harmful ingredients he must use.
Another notable mention, Handgun does not require a DLT to join the two words. Example:
A word such as background is in the category of compound words that are going to be compounds every, or almost every, time you hear them. Therefore, it will be put in your steno dictionary as simply BAK/GROUND. Then, if you ever hear it as two words (which is highly unlikely), you'll use the SP-S command to break the compound into two words: BAK/SP-S/GROUND.
Okay, I did not practice at all this weekend. My husband and i went to Canada for our anniversary. I got back on my machine today and am working on the audio drill. The sentences portion is actually pretty easy. She really gets moving in the words part. I am hesitating on words like Function and Action. I get the whole GS ending but Action is *BGS and Function is GS. So I am waiting too long to think of exactly how to spell it correctly. In a nutshell. More practice is needed. I will post more as I reach the end of the lesson.
Update: I am done with lesson 13!!!
